Here is my attempt at the Pottery Barn Wreath that I posted about below. I already had the wreath and I spent $4 dollars on balls, & twisty tie line all from the Dollar Tree. This price is so much better than the $79.00 that Pottery Barn is asking! Granted I don't have the fancy hanger, but mine will be hung on the outside of my windows so I don't mind.

Loop the twist tie through your ornament, I didn't bother gluing the caps on the balls as they were already pretty tight. Just check yours as you go.
Place your ball on the wreath and fish your loop though the wreath to the metal framing on the back & twist them so they are secure,
Oh this looks so wonderful, what a great job. I love it I would take yours over pottery barn any day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Heidi

Hi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog, and have enjoyed browsing your projects. Your children are adorable. I really love this wreath, will give it a try!
Have a great Sunday!
did you put fake snow on it? or do you already have snow?
ReplyDeleteit is beautiful! great work!
ohhh so pretty. I love it.
ReplyDeleteVery, very cute. My kind of price tag. Mimi
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial, Rachel.......you always have the best posts.
ReplyDeleteThe wreath is just beautiful Rachel. The price tag is certainly better too.
ReplyDeleteI also love the little stitched family down below too. That is fabulous.
Sorry to be so long answering your camera/lens questions. I shoot with two different cameras. My "big boy" is my Nikon D700--which is a new addition this summer---thanks to the generosity of my dear hubby. Honestly I will be amazed if I ever figure it all out. I have a Nikon D50 and that was my camera for so long. It also takes fabulous pictures (we have a D40 in our family also). I have this lens(Nikon Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D Autofocus Lens) on my D700 and this cheaper and still fabulous lens (Nikon Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D Autofocus Lens) on my D50. I have other lenses, but am just so in love with these fixed lenses esp. for portraits.
I think you shoot with cannon. There are comparable lens in Cannon too. My brother-in-law shoots with Cannon and he has either the 50 mm 1.4 or 1.8 lens. Though he prefers zoom lenses.
Here is one of them.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens---just under $100.00 at Amazon. Amazing lens for great value. The Nikkor lenses above do not autofocus on the D40, so if that is important to you make sure it will be compatible w/your camera. I like to be able to auto focus and manual focus. a 85mm lens will probably be my next purchase, but I'm very happy with what we have.
Lovin it!! Great job Rachel, I should make one.
ReplyDeleteI love the wreath. It came out gorgeous. I will need to run to the Dollar Tree. What great ornaments. I can't believe they were from the Dollar Tree.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

Wow, Rachel...Way To Go!!! Yours looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing the how-to!
ReplyDeleteM.L.
She's gorgeous and I definitely am inspired to try!
ReplyDeleteHey Rachel...Love your wreath!
ReplyDeleteI bought stuff to make mine but I have not felt the best this past week and so hopefully I will get mine done over the Tahnksgiving holidays. I will be sure and share when I am finished.
I love all the wreaths. I bought a bunch of balls and wreaths after Christmas sale last year. I am going to make one for each of my friends. This will be cost effective and from the heart. Thanks for sharing your talents!!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog yesterday and fell in LOVE with this wreath. I was so excited to try making it that I couldn't sleep last night! lol. Today I picked up everything I needed...it cost me a little more because I had to buy the wreath...I think I bought a bigger one than I was supposed to because it had 2 wires braces on the back and looks really bushy, anyways, that was $5...then I spent about $7 on ornaments...I didn't use them all though, I'll use the leftovers on my tree. Oh and I bought some craft wire for $1 too so this cost me about $13 to make. NOT BAD!!!! I just finished it and hung it on my wall to look at. Tommarrow I'll make some wire thing to hang it on the door.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the white stuff that your wreath and the PB wreath have? Did you just sprinkle on some fake snow? I feel like mine is missing something!
Gorgeous! I'm definitely adding these to my decor!
ReplyDeleteYour wreath is beautiful! :) It looks every bit as wonderful as the one from Pottery Barn! And four dollars? That's amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good night! :)
Yours is sooo much better than the Pottery Barn one. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! When I saw a plain pine wreath in a local store for only $4 I knew I had to try this. Mine isn't as cute as yours but it is very festive on my red door. It was just what I needed. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteHere is a picture of how mine turned out...thanks again for the tutorial!
