This is so sad bz I don't remember what I did on my last birthday. I probably went to work and then cleaned the house like you did. Since it was fall maybe I raked the leaves or something. My husband just never remembers my birthday so I try not to make a big deal out of it.
ReplyDeleteMy last birthday, mmmmm well I'm pretty sure I cleaned and made pouting faces until my husband went out and bought me a cheese cake, I was 5 month pregnant so no wine..
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Hope you have a great day! Birthdays as an adult are just not the same as when we were kids. You still have the usual house stuff to do, and mine was 7 months ago and I can't remember much of what I did. Probably dinner with the husband and shopping at DownEast Basics, I love that store.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY RACH!!! Hope you have some fun today. Hmmmm my last birthday. I honestly can't remember. Apparently it was very memorable. However, I did get my birthday present in February because I wanted a new camera. So I celebrated 5 months late, but hey I got my camera.
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy Birthday! Guess what?! It's my Birthday too =) Yay for April 23!!! Great day to be born. I'm celebrating my 31st today with a bit of cleaning too. And a BBQ later. Hope you have a fabulous day.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember much about yesterday, let alone my last birthday!! Okay, so my dh surprised me with balloons and tulips! Two of my favorite things--and yes, I spent the day doing the usual Monday things.
ReplyDeleteHave a great birthday!! (insist on not cooking!)
JoAnna
We on my last birthday, I too turned 36... I found a GAP green {my favorite color} shirt while thrifting about 4 months before my birthday and right on the front of that shirt was a gray 36... Perfect birthday attire... I had to work {daycare} but my sweet children all came baring gifts, a homemade apple pie and a nook ereader... For the ENTIRE day, my front door was revolving... I had one guest after another drop by... Ending with my parents coming with a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake... It was awesome turning 36! Happy Birthday Rachel...
ReplyDelete* Well
ReplyDeleteSorry just noticed the typo...
hahaha
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! i LOVE these peonies! I want to put them on a belt to wear with a little black dress! This last year for my birthday, hubby and I (fiance at the time) stayed in watching movies and eating junk food in bed :)
ReplyDeleteMy last birthday was a really horrible day when everything went wrong. I don't even like to think about it!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope its fabulous! My last birthday was incredibly special because it was the day we told everyone we were pregnant! It was a birthday present for everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteMy last birthday was my 30th and my sister threw me a surprise party! So fun! Hope you have a great day Rachel!
ReplyDeleteI turned 50 in an amazing red cottage in Boothbay Harbor, Maine (right on the coast)! I went by myself and slept in, read for hours, did some antiquing, and had a delicious lobster roll. It was a memorable weekend!
ReplyDeleteI was pregnant (didn't know yet), so I spent most of the day puking. My family got together at my aunt's and enjoyed a delicious dinner on bday. I was able to get a cupcake down at least :)
ReplyDeleteI turned 36 on my last birthday. It's hard to admit I'm on the downward slope to 40 - yikes. We had a quiet night at home with Pizza, cake and ice cream and lots of presents.
ReplyDeleteMy last birthday was almost a year ago (man time flies when you are having fun!) and I have no idea what I did on it--more than likely I was celebrating my daughter's birthday which is the day before mine :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and I love those flowers!
Carin
Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI went to a really nice restaurant with my husband.
Is it sad that I don't really remember? It was a week day, so I think I just did work with Matt and cleaned house.
ReplyDeleteOne of my best birthdays was when we went out to cinco de mayo for dinner...mmmm....
Happy Birthday! You're still VERY young! I have a December birthday, so we don't celebrate as much since it's so busy. My family did take me to my favorite restaurant.
ReplyDeleteWarmly, Michelle
Happy Birthday! My last birthday we spent in the car traveling home (12 hrs) from Thanksgiving. It was not ideal, but at least I had my husband and kids with me ALL DAY LONG!!!
ReplyDeleteI spent my last birthday in Florida on an adult trip with my parents and siblings and spouses. SO FUN!
ReplyDeleteWe went out to eat at the Golden Harvest. I love Chinese food!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My last birthday was awesome! This year should be just as great! I'm a July baby. I was camping for 9 whole days with just the hubby and our two boys!! Heavenly!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! On my last birthday My parents took our kids and the Hubs and I were able to go have a nice date night and come home to an empty house! Both events are so rare, that it was the BEST present!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! On my last birthday, my husband surprised me by driving me from our home in NC to our family in NY to walk in the Relay for Life in memory of my grandpa (who raised me). I also had a surprise interview at a school in my hometown the morning of my birthday...and I found out I got the job!!!! So last birthday was definitely a fabulous one! Hope yours is just as great!
ReplyDeleteOn my last Birthday we got a babysitter and my husband and I went out on a date...dinner and a movie.
ReplyDeleteMy 40th birthday was in March and I had a sleepover with my four oldest and dearest friends. It was awesome!
ReplyDeleteHeather
I honestly don't remember. How sad.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL!! you're a very young 36 :) I don't even remember what I did on my last birthday. I think I got to sleep in and have french toast made for me. Not bad :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you!!!
ReplyDeleteMy last bday was the big 4-0 and my hubby threw a huge surprise party for me, it was awesome! :)
On my last birthday I turned 35 so I will be 36 this year just like you. What a great age. Last year my parents were here picking up my oldest daughter to go for a week of Grandparent camp. We went to lunch, I got to wear a cheese hat while they sang to me. After stuffing myself and having non-diet soda :) we ventured back to the house to have my favorite cake, that my mom made and brought from their home two hours away for me. That night was an evening to hang with the family and then some quiet time all to myself, courtesy of my husband. so I hope yours is just as wonderful and full of yummt things.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Rachel! I turned the big four oh last week and enjoied every minute of it. My family took me to Carrabba's Italian Grill, I was showered with gifts including coupons from my kids for whine free homework sessions, cold hard cash from my in-laws and my mom, a trip (and bill paid) to my very favoirte garden nursery, and lots of hugs and kisses. Couldn't have suited me more. I hope your day is just as lovely.
ReplyDeleteMy last birthday. The big 4.5. I worked...I'm an elementary school reading specialist so I spent the day with 702 of my favorite little people. :)
ReplyDeleteI have found that as you get older (I am 27) that your birthday gets less and less attention. Last year on my birthday (New Year's Day) it was snowing, a blizzard here in NH. I stayed home and enjoyed some family time with my husband and kids. Although I wish I could have done something I did in my teens, I enjoyed the time with them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed yours as well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
My husband always makes sure my birthday is special. I hope you have a Happy Birthday! Best wishies!
ReplyDeleteMy last birthday? Probably exactly what I do every birthday... the same things I do every day!! Now for my next birthday (I turn 30 in July), I will have to do something different!
ReplyDeletenickandashleycrown(at)yahoo(dot)com
Last birthday was spent playing with the kiddos and doing the normal motherly duties and then my hubby brought home dinner and the famous choc cake from COSTCO! if you havent tried it, go get it now. Don't walk....:) Its divine!
ReplyDeleteHappy 36th Birthday! I just celebrated my 36th birthday in March-- the day after I got home from the hospital, so I spent it cuddling with my newborn. I hope you have a great one and don't have to work too hard:)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Hope you have nice weather for working outside. Last birthday I was camping during a family reunion :) mamalusco at ortelco dot net
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! On my last Birthday I worked then was suck in a meeting until 11:00pm, so we celebrated the next day!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday was last Sunday (the big 3-0)! I spent it cooking for my family who was over to celebrate. Happy Birthday - April birthdays are the best ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My last birthday I stayed home and had fun with my family. We watched a movie on our backyard movie screen.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember. The REALLY sad thing is that my husband and I almost share a birthday (mine's the 17th and his is the 18)so I asked him what we did for our birthday - he can't remember, either. That can't be good...
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! Mine also ends in .6 but a little more years have passed since 3.6! :-) Birthdays are meant to spend them anyway you like. My hubby took me out to dinner ... can't ask for more than that! Have a great day! The flowers are a-dora-belle!
ReplyDeleteLast birthday, like every birthday, I was in Portland at the antique show at EXPO. (Although for my big 50 I was at Disneyland because I got in free on my birthday)
ReplyDeleteIf I remember right, Ryan was out of town that week so it was just me and the two-year-old, though I am sure Ryan would have cooked me dinner on the weekend when he came home.

ReplyDeleteMy last birthday I went swimming with my kids. Then made myself a nice dinner and trifle for dessert. Yum.
ReplyDeleteI was home alone with the kids all day, Tob on a fire assignment, napped in the afternoon and then worked that night if I remember correctly. Pretty spectacular I must say! HAPPY 36th BIRTHDAY!!!

It was delightful! I hope your day is fabulous as well!
Happy birthday! My last birthday was spent as it has been every year for about the last 15 years.....at pappasito's with dear friends!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great one!
We worked all day in the yard and weeding the garden. Then my dad called and asked what I did for my birthday. When I told him I worked, he said I am getting old because now my birthday is like any other day, filled with work. So you must be getting old, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI spent my last birthday (35) in China with dear friends who were there adopting their new daughter. So special to be there (I was along to help out with their other kiddos). We had a wonderful dinner in Hong Kong - got to taste Peking Duck for the first time in my life. I'll be turning 36 next month... :)
ReplyDeleteI was on a trip to PARIS on my last birthday!!!

I wish I had some pathletic story of doing housework and my hubby forgetting my birthday; however, I flew to Rome with my husband on a business trip. After he finished his work, we drove to positano in a sports car. It was amazing! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI am a teacher and I have started school on my birthday for the last 10 years (except a couple due to weekends). But my family tries to make it all okay by taking me to dinner and spoiling me with fun presents.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you! On my birthday I got to go to dinner with my hubby and sisters and their hubbies then go to a Jazz game, it was awesome!

ReplyDeleteThis past birthday I spent hanging out with my hubby and then two-month old daughter. I watched Oprah to see if I could see my friend and her sister in the audience. I opened my gifts and finally got a labeler! Happy 29th to me! :)
My last birthday was on Tuesday and I spent it taking care of my sick one-year-old. I was thankful for a day at home though! Since he couldn't take me on a date as planned, my husband brought me take out and rented a red box. We watched Tangled while I sewed, so that made it a very good evening!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday last year was spent at Disneyland with just my husband and I! We are about 30 minutes from Disney and it was the last day to use our season passes - - I'm going to miss Disneyland so much when we move in July to a new AF base in Ohio. Lots of happy memories there!
ReplyDeleteMy last birthday was spent with my family at my Mom's. She cooked a wonderful dinner for all of us and ended the night with my favorite, pineapple pudding!

Yes, I'm a "turkey baby" and this year my bday will actually fall on T'giving! My blessed family always feels so bad when this happens and go out of their way to make the day special. We had pizza and cake that Wednesday, but I celebrated at Making Memories Unforgettable on Saturday with 12 of my closest friends. We ate, crafted, laughed and celebrated from 10 a.m. ~ 12 a.m.!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
I'm not a fan of my birthday. I love everyone elses, but not my own. Whenever anyone would sing Happy Birthda to me I would cry. This lasted til I was about 18- not kidding. I am trying to be happier about my birthday for my kids. This year my son wanted to take me to breakfast. He chose Burger King. It was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! I love birthdays! This year my hubby schduled a pedicure for me, my fav. The best part of birthdays really are spending time wiht those you love!

I love birthdays- it's great to celebrate getting wiser and older. These are so cute, my daughter loves hair accesories.
ReplyDeleteMy 36th (last month) was spent with my family - church in the morning, then a movie in the theater. So nice to spend quality time with the family:) 36 is not to bad so far. Enjoy your 36th year (or is it technically our 37th year since you have an entire year in before you turn 1?)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteLast year I got my hair done for my birthday. I plan on doing the same on my birthday (#34) which is on Friday the 13th :)

ReplyDeleteMy last birthday I went to Church and my husband made dinner!
ReplyDeletehope i win
My last birthday (34th) I woke up excited to spend the day with my kids and going out to a new restaurant with my husband. I woke up feeling fine, had my normal cup of coffee and then about 30 mins later threw up. Felt so much better and was fine for another three hours. Decided to run to the mall for a new dress and as I pulled into the parking lot, got sick again. Ran three kids into the mall real quick to New York and Company (what was I thinking??). Decided on the way home that I was really too sick to celebrate my birthday and I ended up spending the rest of the day in bed with a 48 hour bug. :( Boooooo! Hoping 35 is better!!
ReplyDeleteThat is not nice to a 48 year old as of February. LOL All I remember is it was my hardest b-day knowing the big 50 is coming up and I do not even look it. I was so blessed with great skin- noone knows my age, but inside you know the numbers get bigger.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY and enjoy each day as it was yesterday.
Happy, Happy Birthday!! Let's see my last birthday I was 38 and we moved! Yes, ON my birthday. It was a Saturday and it had to happen. I think my hubby ran out and got a grocery store cake just before midnight. So exhausted and weepy we ate a quick bite before we crashed on our just set up beds. Fingers are crossed that this year will look better!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I ♥ your blog. For my last birthday I bought a Dyson and went out to dinner with my family.
